Scripture: Acts 7:1-16
Everyone has a story. I have a story. You have a story. But we all want to fit into a larger story. We get a good feeling when we understand how what we are doing fits into a larger purpose. The person that doesn’t enjoy painting very much will have a totally different feeling when they are painting a house with Habitat for Humanity. There is something about playing a role in a larger story. This is the way God designed us.
Stephen is given a chance to speak after charges were brought against him. He uses this opportunity to share his story. But not just his life story; the story that his life fits into. The bigger story.
What is your bigger story? Why are you here? Where did you come from? What is your purpose?
For Stephen, this story was found all throughout the Old Testament. It is in the Scriptures that this history has been recorded and Stephen saw himself as a part of that story.
Do you see yourself in the story of history as recorded in the Bible? Where do you fit in? What is your purpose? Where are you going?
Open the Bible and start to find out!
