Scripture: Acts 23:23-35
God’s ways are not always our ways.
Paul wanted to go to Rome. God said He was going to get him there. But God did not say the way that He was going to get Paul to Rome. God’s plan was for Paul to go as a prisoner.
In our passage today, we’ve got an official Roman letter recorded for us to read. This letter went along with Paul to Caesarea. Four hundred and 70 troupes also went with Paul. That is a lot of protection the government provided to keep one of their citizens safe from the ambush the Jews were plotting against him.
Crazy things happen in life. Things inside and outside of our control. But God is in control of it all. His promises are sure. Paul was getting to Rome, and each step of the way Paul was going to serve the Lord and share the gospel with others.
What has God promised to you? Where is He telling you to go? You will get that promise, and you will go there. But I’m wondering this morning, what are you doing along the way?
